The Legend of the Third Eye

The Beginning

In the late late 60's, a young sailor named Sam Reber tasted pork on a stick at a food stand halfway around the world and couldn't get the sauce out of his head. When he got back stateside, he setout to bring the flavor back home — from memory, at his own stove, by trial and error.

Years later, he had it. As word got out, this homemade sauce began to win prizes in local competitions and quickly spread to national recognition. Friends, neighbors, and strangers would stop by Sam's house the for the award winning sauces and equally good memories.

The sauce, now known as Hogwash, is tailor made for slow smokes and fatty cuts. It pairs great with with pork, beef, chicken, and just about anything else. Fire up the grill, pass the bottle, and tell a few good stories along the way. Around here, a little hogwash is a part of the tradition.
